Boomerang is now available for Safari!

Posted By on Jan 23, 2012

We have gotten quite a few requests over the last year for Boomerang to support Safari. With the recent release of version 5.1, Safari supports all of the pieces required to run Boomerang. So Boomerang now supports Safari as well. Technically speaking, it’s been out for a little while already while we were testing it. For the past 2 weeks, if you happened to visit the Boomerang download page while browsing on Safari, you might have noticed that it was already there – like one Boomerang user did, and promptly tweeted about it, breaking our news a few days early!

Today, we’d like to officially welcome Safari to the Boomerang family!

If you have been holding out on installing Boomerang because you can’t give up Safari, wait no longer! Here are installation instructions for Safari-goers.

1. Click this red button to download the extension on Safari. Download Boomerang

2.Open the downloaded extension file B4G_Safari.safariextz (it should be in your downloads folder), and dobule-click it to install.

3. Click “Install” when Safari asks for confirmation. The confirmation pop up looks like this.

4. Open Gmail in a new tab or refresh the current Gmail tab if you already have it open.

5. Ta-da! You should have Boomerang installed inside Gmail. To confirm you have installed it perfectly, look to the top right of Gmail and to the left of your email address, you should see a Boomerang menu. And if you want to learn how to use all the advanced Boomerang features, check out our demo video.

Let us know if you have any trouble installing this by sending an email to support at baydin dot com. Welcome to the party, Safari!

  1. How do you open it ona Mac

  2. I tried installing Boomerang in Safari, and it looks like everything is there, but every time that I try to use a Boomerang function for an email, I get prompted with the Login pop-up to grant access to the baydin site for my Google Apps account. I did it the first time, as I would have expected to do, but then keep getting it over and over again when I try to use Boomerang.

I also tried Boomerang in Chrome for our Google Apps account, but kept getting a 403 error when trying to use Boomerang functionality. Worked great with my personal Gmail account though.

Thanks in advance for any help!
